Here today…. gone tomorrow?

I am attempting to document Triangle Park as best I can before it is all transformed into a University River Campus. The graffiti and tired, worn out buildings have a strange sort of beauty to them that I will miss.

For those of you who don’t know, this property was recently purchased by the University of Portland. npGREENWAY is excited for the opportunity that this provides for the University and for the Willamette Greenway Trail. We are looking forward to a new 12′ wide hard surface transportation trail through this area in the future.

I appreciate all the documentation, thanks! Is it already fenced, or can I make one last exploratory mission?

You can still get in there right now. I imagine they will be done within a couple of weeks or so.

Mission

npGREENWAY envisions a trail system providing access to and along the Willamette River enveloping the north riverfront from the Steel Bridge in downtown Portland to Cathedral Park near the St. Johns Bridge and extending through Baltimore Woods to Kelley Point Park.

Our goal is to link North Portland neighborhoods with the Willamette River for recreation and access to jobs. This expansion of the Willamette River Greenway will include a network of trails used for activities such as walking, running, cycling, skating, skateboarding, fishing, boating and wildlife viewing. The North Portland Greenway trails will connect with the existing Willamette River trail system serving residents and visitors throughout the region.

npGREENWAY is working collaboratively with community stakeholders to realize this goal.
