npGreenway Volunteer Meet Up
Volunteering is a reward in and of itself, but join us this Thursday at the Lucky Lab Tap Room (1700 N Killingsworth) for FREE drinks and a FREE t-shirt to boot!
The rainy days are getting warmer and fewer and farther between. As flowers begin to bloom, folks come out of their winter hibernation and increase their outdoor activities. That’s when the npGreenway’s Events Team springs into action to raise awareness of this important link in our regional trail network and to help ensure the North Portland Greenway trail gets built.
The npGreenway Events Team is having a meet up to plan the spring/summer event calendar. Meet experienced volunteers, learn what’s happening on the trail, and sign up to help at an upcoming event. Everyone who signs up gets a free npGreenway t-shirt.

How much: We’ll provide some drinks. Food available to purchase.
The npGreenway Volunteer Teams
The bulk of npGreenway’s work is volunteer driven. They are many ways you can help:
- Advocacy and Outreach Team – We are looking for folks who are active transportation advocates. Do you have experience and connections with local elected officials? Are you involved with schools in North Portland? Do you have affiliations with other organizations that seem like a great partners for npGreenway? The Advocacy and Outreach team meets once a month to strategize our work with local decision makers to get the trail built.
- Communications and Technology Team – Are you a good writer? Do you have web skills? Are you a social media maven? Help npGreenway get the word out through our newsletter, website and social media outlets. Help build the npGreenway brand!
- Events Team – Do you like people? Do you like having fun? The Events Team educates people about the trail and gets them excited and invested in advocating for the trail to be completed. Activities include tabling at events around town, leading rides along existing and proposed sections of the Greenway Trail, and coming up with other fun ideas. If this sounds like fun, then this is the team for you.
- Fundraising and Grants Team – Building a trail and running an advocacy organization takes money. Are you a grant writer? Do you like calling up individuals, businesses and organizations to ask them to help a great cause? If so, we could use your help.
